Taking into account the current social context and the problems involving racism and the way black people are inserted in society and in the market, this article brings the results of a qualitative and quantitative research on the social impact of businesses run by black entrepreneurs, conducted by the Social Research Group (Grupo de Pesquisa Social - GPS) of the Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM-Social). This study identifies the social and environmental impacts of businesses run by black entrepreneurs, with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) established by the UN for the 2030 agenda as the main spectrum of analysis. In addition, this study discusses the economic and social determinants of black entrepreneurship, its motivations and goals, and identifies the SDGs that are most closely aligned with businesses run by black entrepreneurs. Data was collected through a survey and interviews with three ventures run by black people, and we used the case study as a research method. This allowed us to infer the level of social impact of black entrepreneurship on socio-environmental issues and to contribute to a greater visibility of this type of entrepreneurship, as well as the sustainable measures taken by them.
